Support to the internationalisation of local ecosystems in S3 priority areas

The Targeted Assignment for the Region of East Macedonia and Thrace (REMTH) focuses on enhancing the region’s Entrepreneurial Discovery Process (EDP), which has already identified promising activities in agrifood, materials, and ICT. REMTH is also making strides in fostering partnerships between industry and research organisations. However, there is an opportunity to further strengthen its capabilities by enhancing interregional collaborations, particularly with more developed regions, to facilitate knowledge transfer, exchange best practices, and integrate local actors into broader value chains. This assignment aims to review REMTH’s current interregional collaboration practices and provide tailored recommendations to address systemic gaps, identify new opportunities, and enhance tools that support the active involvement of REMTH’s business and research sectors in interregional initiatives.

S3 Priorities and keywords

Descriptive keywords

These keywords, identified using AI and manually verified, highlight the key elements of each strategic priority as reflected in individual strategies.

Semantically Associated Keywords

These keywords, identified and associated through semantic AI algorithms and manually reviewed, support the search function by identifying topics related to each strategic priority. While a priority may not explicitly focus on these keywords, they provide meaningful connections. For exxample, agricultural terms might relate to circular economy priorities, such as biofuels or agricultural waste valorisation. Semantically associated keywords enable users to find regions with similar or related priorities, offering a starting point for deeper exploration of each specific strategy.
